A Contemporary Murano Glass Table by Wave Murano Glass and Armand Louis
at Palazzo Pisani Moretta, Venice
Wave Murano Glass takes part in an exceptional project initiated by Dries Van Noten, a leading figure in the world of fashion, in collaboration with the Fondazione Dries Van Noten.
This initiative stems from a desire to create a dialogue between disciplines, bringing together the know-how of Murano artisans through the encounter between master glassmaker Roberto Beltrami and designer Armand Louis, co-founder of Atelier Oï, who accompanies Wave Murano Glass through a mission of artistic direction.
At the heart of the project lies a question of resonance. Craftsmanship is approached not as preservation, but as a living language, capable of displacement, amplification and reinterpretation. Tradition becomes material for transformation, open to new spatial and conceptual readings.

Eco Speculare: A Dialogue Between Glass and Architecture
Eco Speculare emerges directly from its context. The table draws its structural vocabulary from the historic Murano glass chandelier suspended above it in Palazzo Pisani Moretta, one of the most remarkable historic palaces on Venice’s Grand Canal.
Rather than replicating the object, the project operates through transposition. Selected ornamental components are isolated, magnified and grounded.
What was once suspended becomes structural; what once diffused light now supports presence.
The chandelier acts as a silent conductor. It emits impulses, rhythms, transparencies, reflections, which the table receives and reformulates.
Through its mirrored top surface, light is not merely reflected but multiplied and redistributed.
The piece becomes both echo and mirror: a spatial reverberation that connects ceiling and floor, ornament and architecture.
Between past and future, the work proposes continuity rather than rupture. It does not compete with history; it converses with it. By shifting scale and function, the ornamental language of the chandelier is reinterpreted as contemporary architecture. The gesture is both respectful and transformative.
Integrated into the exceptional 17th-century setting of Palazzo Pisani Moretta, Eco Speculare becomes part of the site’s narrative. It invites visitors to reconsider the space, to look upward, then downward, and to perceive the subtle dialogue unfolding between suspension and grounding, memory and reflection.

Presented at “THE ONLY TRUE PROTEST IS BEAUTY”
Fondazione Dries Van Noten, Palazzo Pisani Moretta – Venice
The project will be presented within “THE ONLY TRUE PROTEST IS BEAUTY,” the inaugural Presentation of Fondazione Dries Van Noten, curated by Dries Van Noten with Geert Bruloot, opening 25 April 2026 at Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice.
Bringing together more than 200 works by international artists, designers, and makers, the Presentation explores beauty as a force of reflection, provocation, and transformation. Across the historic rooms of the Palazzo, fashion, art, design, ceramics, glass, jewellery, and material experimentation enter into dialogue, revealing the human intensity behind the act of making.
Within this context, Eco Speculare by Armand Louis for Wave Murano Glass contributes to a broader conversation about contemporary design and Murano glass craftsmanship, highlighting how traditional techniques continue to inspire new artistic expressions.
Housed within the historic Palazzo Pisani Moretta on the Grand Canal, the Fondazione Dries Van Noten is a new non-profit cultural institution dedicated to craftsmanship and creative dialogue, bringing together artists, designers, and makers across disciplines while connecting Venice’s artistic heritage with contemporary perspectives.
The Only True Protest Is Beauty presentation brings together works by internationally acclaimed creatives such as Christian Lacroix, Comme des Garçons, Ettore Sottsass, Hubert Duprat, Joris Laarman, Peter Buggenhout, Steven Shearer, and Takuro Kuwata, alongside a wide constellation of contemporary artists and designers.
