About Armand Luis of Atelier Oï

Atelier Oï’s transdisciplinary philosophy and way of working is marked through a fusion of disciplines. Working across architecture, interior design, product design, scenography and art, we strive to dissolve barriers between genres and create holistic solutions from object to space.

Atelier Oï’s own, private collection — Atelier Oï PRIVÉ — is composed of limited-edition artwork collections born from collaborations with a selection of international craftspeople. The collections explore different materials, savoir-faire and craftsmanship and exemplify our very personal vision.

Located in between a lake, mountains and vineyards, atelier oï draws inspiration from the surrounding nature and celebrates its seasons. Therefore, our projects explore the natural world — with all its resources and phenomena — as well as our relationship with it. Our creations reflect the permanent impermanence of nature and its seasons — the insight being the only permanent thing is change.

“Since arriving in Venice, I’ve had the chance to work closely with Roberto Beltrami and his wonderful team. A true affinity has formed between us — built on trust, mutual respect, and a deep sense of complicity. This human and professional connection has led to a rare intensity in our exchanges, and naturally invites us to imagine this collaboration as something that extends beyond the timeframe of a residency — like a thread continuing into the future.

I’m experiencing this period as a deep immersion, a kind of dive into a suspended world where time seems to slow down. Molten glass transforms with a majestic, almost cosmic slowness, reminiscent of the movements found in the underwater world — where everything floats, hesitates, and hovers in suspension.

In this burning space, paradoxically so slow, only the Maestros and their assistants break the silence: they move through the glassworks with lightning precision, performing an urgent choreography dictated by those few precious seconds when the material remains malleable.

This contrast between the inertia of transforming glass and the urgency of human gesture creates a singular, almost sacred tension. Each piece is born in this fragile in-between — where the slowness of a liquid world meets the swiftness of a hand that knows exactly when to act, without hesitation.”
